SPONSOR A PATRIOT NOW

More than 40 Patriots, like CMDR Harrison, were sponsored at the 2009 Gala
by the generosity of people like you!

Help us honor our Service Members again in 2011!

Highlights from the 2009 Sponsor a Patriot Program:
CMDR Holly R. Harrison accepts her award from General David Petraeus, USA and General Anne Dunwoody, USA. Harrison was selected as the Patriot to represent the Coast Guard onstage during the 2009 American Patriot Award Gala. She was the first woman to command a Coast Guard vessel in a combat zone, where her cutter and its dedicated crew conducted innumerable search  and  rescue, maritime interdiction, convoy and combat-related operations between Bahrain in the south and the Iraqi port of Umm Qasr in the north.

What is the Program?

Each year the NDU Foundation hosts one of the most patriotic annual events of the season – The American Patriot Award Gala. On Friday November 5, 2010 in Washington D.C., the 2010 American Patriot Award will be presented to U.S. Secretary of Defense, Robert M. Gates.

In addition to the National honorees, NDUF works vigorously to “give back” and say thank you to our every day service members who sacrifice so much for our country. Through this program, 30 service members  from each branch of military  will be invited to the gala for recognition.

Who are the "Patriots" Honored?

Hand picked by their commanders and leadership, young service members from each branch of the military, are selected and sent, sometimes from across the world, for a special evening in Washington D.C. These young men and women have distinguished themselves by their character and dedication to country.   Please scroll down to see reactions by the participants of the previous events

How can I Participate?

Your support will bring these patriots to the event on November 5, giving them the opportunity to meet the senior military leadership, congressional and government leadership in attendance and the chance to be a part of one of the most inspiring patriotic events of the year.  You could also volunteer to host a a fund raising event or team.  There are other volunteer opportunities available.  Contact us to find out more: info@nduf.org.
