Your Support
Gifts of any size are important to the University's ability to provide students with the highest quality of national security education, to build international networks, and to enable faculty to fully pursue critical research. There are a number of ways you can support the National Defense University through its Foundation:
Outright Gifts
Gifts of Stock
Gifts of marketable stocks or mutual fund shares that have appreciated can have an immediate impact on a college or program at NDU while creating an income tax deduction for you based on the assets' current value.
Gift Planning
Planned gifts or estate gifts are an effective way to manage your affairs, plan for the future, and make a meaningful gift to the NDU Foundation. Common gift planning strategies include bequests, charitable gift annuities or remainder trusts, donor advised funds, gifts of life insurance, or real property. Many gift planning strategies can provide a reliable source of income and/or tax benefits for the donor.
Create an Endowment
An endowment establishes a fund managed by the NDU Foundation, which provides perpetual, annual support for the National Defense University . For as little as $500,000 an endowed fund may be established, and named, to support a college, school, program, or initiative of your choosing.
Matching Gifts
Many employers will match their employees' gifts to National Defense University Foundation. Some employers will even match the gifts of retired employees, spouses, parents, and even gifts from their board of directors. All matched funds will be designated to the area to which you contributed your gift.
The American Patriot Award Gala
Corporations, Foundations and Private Citizens can also show their support of NDU and the value of American Patriotism by becoming a sponsor of our annual event.
